Configuring Office 365 Student Email on iPhone

These instructions are meant to be used with an iPhone that is running iOS 5. If you are running an older iOS or if you are using a different type of smartphone, some settings may be different.

Once your account is setup on your phone, receiving mail will work whether you are on the campus wireless or off site. If you are on campus and want to send mail using your iPhone, you must turn your iPhone's WiFi off in the Settings app.

If you run into any issues or your account does not sync your emails within an hour of setting up your account, contact support at 214-333-5500.

On the home screen: Click on the settings app

If you are on campus, make sure you are not connected to DBU Wifi. Your email account will not be able to sync correctly if your phone is on the wireless network. Once your phone has successfully synced your emails, you can put your phone back on wireless.

Scroll down the settings and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

Under Accounts, click "Add Account"

Choose "Microsoft Exchange"

The following information is required to setup your account:
Email: username@mail.dbu.edu
Username: username@mail.dbu.edu
Password: Webadvisor password

Leave the Domain blank
Description: DBU Student

Once you have filled out all the information click "Next"

Your phone will verify the information

You will be prompted with another field on the screen. Fill in the following information: Server: outlook.com

Select "Next" and your phone will verify the information.

Note: If you are prompted with a question that mentions security press "Continue"

Configure the settings that you want to have synced to your phone. The default settings chosen are "Mail" and "Calendars"
Make sure that "Contacts" are turned off

Select "Save" once you are done

Return back to the home screen and click "Mail"
