Reading an eBook:
Browsing an eBook is the equivalent of taking a book off the shelf and looking through it. While you are actively using it, no other user will have access to it. If 15 minutes elapse without active use, the book is “put back on the shelf” and another user will have access.
- Execute one of the search types described above.
- Select the “View this eBook” link under the desired title.
- The eBook is displayed.
- Links in the Contents window allow you to jump to any chapter.
- Use the Acrobat printer icon to print one page at a time.
- The “eContent Details” tab will show citation information, and allows you to place the book in your favorites list.
Creating a NetLibrary account:
Establishing an account allows you to add eBooks to your personal Favorites list, and even make personal notes in the book. How to create an account:
- Select the “Create a free account” link found on the far top right.
- Enter the information requested. Create your own username and password, and write them down for future reference.
- Click the “Create Account” button.
- Your account will be created and you will be logged in.
Logging in after you have created an account:
- Enter from the library’s page, as described above, or go to www.netLibrary.com
Click the “Log In” link – at the top left of the screen.
- Enter your user name and password where requested.
- Click the “Log in” button.
- You may now execute a search, or view your Favorites list.
Favorites List:
This feature allows you to add titles to a list so you can easily access them at a later time without executing another search.
- From a Results List: select the “Add to Favorites” link under each book title desired.
- From a Book View: choose the “eContent Details” tab in the left sidebar, then select the “Add to Favorites” link.
- To view your Favorites list, select the “Favorites and Notes” link at the top right of the NetLibrary Home page.
- Select the book you wish to use by clicking the “View this eBook” link.
Notes:
If you find a passage you want to remember, or you just want to bookmark the page where you stop reading, use the Notes feature.
- While viewing an eBook, choose the “Notes” tab in the left sidebar.
- Type a name for your note (examples: “interesting quote,” or “stopped here on 8/22/06”), then type text, if desired in the note field.
- Click the “Add Note” button.
- The next time you view your Favorites list, your note will display under the appropriate book title. You may edit or remove your note, or open the eBook to the page where the note was created.
