Ross Perot Keynotes Annual Christian Business Owners Conference
Christian leaders and business owners gathered together on the Dallas Baptist University campus for the annual Christian Business Owners Conference to hear from this year’s keynote speaker, Ross Perot, Jr.
Each spring, DBU hosts the CBOC to create a forum where Christian business owners can fellowship, network, and share best practices in the business world. At the core of the conference is a desire to encourage servant leaders in the business world to continue to integrate their faith with their vocation, thus promoting Kingdom work and personal and professional growth in their circle of influence. All proceeds from the luncheon provide scholarship funds for DBU students who share a passion to connect their calling with the world of business and enterprise.
Ross Perot, Jr., is a legendary business leader who currently serves as the Chairman of The Perot Group, as well as Chairman of Hillwood, a Texas-based, leading global real estate development company. Over the years, Perot has followed in his father’s footsteps while also blazing his own trail, with a driving vision to build better businesses by putting the needs of the employees and customers first.
“Good business means that you are taking care of everybody, you are fair with everybody, and you treat everybody like you want to be treated,” explained Perot. “If you do that right, you have a better business.”
A decorated Air Force pilot, Perot has a history of civil and public service, including a 14-year effort to build the United States Air Force Memorial Foundation in Washington, D. C., which was dedicated in 2006. He has received numerous national, state, and local honors, and in 1999, DBU presented him with the Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award.
“It was an honor for us to host Mr. Perot on our campus for this event,” stated Dr. Jeff Johnson, DBU Vice President for Advancement. “Hearing from leaders such as him provides inspiration and challenge for everyone who attends the CBOC. We pray that in the years to come, the CBOC and similar events will allow DBU to be a Kingdom resource for the Dallas-Fort Worth business community and beyond.”
