DBU Alumnus Signs to Play Professional Basketball

Last year, DBU Alumnus and former DBU athlete, Boy van Vliet, was signed to play professional basketball for the Den Helder Suns of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). Not only did he excel in his career, but he was also named this year’s DBL Rookie of the Year.

When asked about how his time at DBU equipped him for his professional career, Boy replied that God used DBU to lead him to Christ, to teach him how to be content in and trust God’s plans and timing, to give him a strong, supportive network of friends, teammates and coaches, and to help prepare him mentally and physically to handle all the challenges that the tougher, professional level may bring.

As far as earning DBL’s Rookie of the Year is concerned, Boy declared, “There has been a lot of hard work that has paid off, but this is only the beginning.”
