Christ is Our Anchor

I love this quote: "To realize the worth of the anchor, we need to feel the storm."

With all the uncertainty we are facing these days, we are undoubtedly "feeling the storm," aren't we? These days, people are looking for answers everywhere and in anything.

When is this pandemic going to end? How severely is the economy going to be hit? What about my job? What about school? The real challenge for us right now, as God's children, comes in the fact that we don't often get easy answers to life's difficult questions.

We look for answers, we long for answers. Yet, the beautiful thing about God is that He gives us something better than answers: He gives us Himself! What we need most in times like these are not answers, but anchors.

And what an amazing anchor we have in the Lord Jesus Christ! Please be encouraged that, as we work our way through "feeling the storm," we are going to quickly realize the true worth of our Anchor.

Be encouraged by these words from Hebrews 6:18-19:

"God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."

Be encouraged by these words from a great old hymn:

In times like these you need a Savior,

In times like these you need an anchor;

Be very sure, be very sure;

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

This Rock is Jesus, yes He's the One,
