DBU Establishes New Scholarship for First Responders
DBU recently established a new scholarship for First-Responders that awards $500 per semester to eligible students. DBU has been preparing leaders to serve their communities for over 120 years, and who more than First-Responders embody such a sacrificial dedication to helping others.
Paramedics, firefighters, medical workers, police officers – First-Responders are those specially trained to deal with high stress situations around the clock. They are sent into the very midst of crises to provide care and service for people in danger. With this new scholarship, those serving in First-Responder fields can make their college experience more affordable.
“It is our calling to provide a Christ centered quality education for those serving such a critical role in our communities,” says Jason Williams, Associate Vice President for Enrollment. “We are excited to provide this new helpful resource to assist our students that serve in a First Responder field. It is our hope that for many years to come this will be a resource to help countless First Responders finish their degree at DBU.”
