New Masters Programs

DBU stands ready to meet the needs and challenges of the 21^st century with an ever-expanding curriculum, expert professors, and a commitment to engage new and developing fields from a Christian worldview. Here are our newest additions to the master’s program offerings in The Graduate School.   

Master of Arts in Psychology

According to Mental Health America, 60% of youth with major depression did not receive any mental health treatment in 2017-18. In addition, the pandemic has caused increases in youth reporting mental health issues. Recent legislation has paved the way for master’s graduates to practice as a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in the state of Texas. Previously, this career field was only available to those with a doctorate. So, DBU is launching the Master of Arts in Psychology (MAP), which will prepare students to practice as an LPA or a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). DBU is currently the only university in Texas with such a program.

Master of Arts in Education Ministry Leadership

This season, unlike any other, we are currently faced with the challenges of a post-pandemic ministry and what it engulfs. The MAEML degree provides a multifaceted approach combining practical experience, contemporary methodology, and the timeless truths of God’s Word to education ministry leadership in uncertain times. The facets of the MAEML degree prepare ministry leaders to employ the latest educational methodologies, strategies, and methods in ministry settings. This program highlights concentrations attractive to ministry leaders who will serve in positions of executive roles, discipleship, student ministry, collegiate ministry, connection, small group, Christian schools, and community ministries.

Master of Science in Digital Risk Management

DBU continues to establish itself as a leader in the technology space by introducing a new Master of Science in Information Technology and Management program. As a result of the need for increased cybersecurity in today’s marketplace, the program aims to address the shortage of professional workers in data protection and privacy fields. The MSDRM includes coursework on mitigating the vulnerabilities in cybersecurity, workforce risk, compliance risk, third-party risk, automation risk, resiliency risk, and data privacy risk.  

The Redesigned MBA

There has been much debate about the quality of remote and virtual education during the pandemic. DBU responded quickly by moving all classes to online or virtual instruction. Now, DBU is merging the benefits of virtual instruction and the in-classroom experience with our new no time, no place constraint MBA. Students can participate wherever they are and learn from some of the best minds in the industry.
