Associate of Arts (Teacher Preparation)
The Associate of Arts teacher preparation degree equips the student for a Texas teaching certification by providing a strong foundation in the liberal arts and preparing students for their entrance into a teacher certification bachelor's degree program.

Generally, classes begin four times a year:
- Spring
- Summer
- Fall

Credit Hours Overview
As required for all Associate's degrees, students must complete the following:
- General Studies Courses (i.e., English, History, Mathematics)
- Electives*
- Lower-Level Electives (1000-2000 level courses)
- Upper-Level Electives (3000-4000 level courses)
- Minimum Total Credit Hours Required: 60 Credit Hours**
*Courses chosen by the student that will count toward a bachelor's degree, but may not be directly related to the degree program being pursued.
