Educational Background

  • M.Acc., Baylor University
  • B.B.A., Baylor University
Before joining DBU, Professor Paterson completed both her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Baylor University. After graduation, she obtained her CPA license and began her career at Deloitte as a consultant specializing in private wealth tax. As a student at Baylor, Professor Paterson was inspired by her exceptional accounting professors and always hoped to become one herself. "Getting to be a professor is very full circle for me, and I don’t take that for granted." Professor Paterson is passionate about training students to be competitive in the marketplace and exemplify what it means to be a Christian business leader. One of her favorite aspects of accounting is that it closes no doors. Accounting not only opened many doors in her career but also led her to meet her husband in her accounting classes at Baylor. Professor Paterson understands the value of a strong accounting program and is grateful for the opportunity to help grow and strengthen DBU’s College of Business to better train students to enter the rapidly evolving world of business.
