Meet Dr. Aaron Son

Teaching Background
Dr. Son has taught a variety of New Testament and Greek courses at all academic levels (undergraduate and graduate courses and doctoral seminars). He first started teaching at Dallas Baptist University in 1999. After teaching for nine years at DBU, the Lord led him to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, his alma mater. He taught there for twelve years as a professor of the New Testament. He then returned home to DBU in June 2022. He is now teaching New Testament courses in the College of Christian Faith.

Dr. Son is a passionate New Testament and Greek scholar and teacher. As such, he is interested in all areas of NT studies. He is, however, most interested in the Pauline studies (life, letters, and theology) and New Testament history.
Dr. Aaron Son's Background
Dr. Son is an ordained Baptist minister. Before embarking on his full-time teaching ministry, he planted a church in the DFW metroplex and served this church as senior pastor for over seven years. Dr. Son still frequently preaches and teaches in local churches and speaks at various conferences.
In addition, Dr. Son frequently leads biblical tours in Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Italy for students, pastors, and lay Christians. He is also the founder of a non-profit organization called "Stepping Stone Ministries International (SSMI)," which provides scholarships to international and minority students pursuing vocational ministries.
Dr. Son is married and has two grown children.
