Dr. Kim's Story
Dr. Kim was born in the Southeastern region of South Korea and then grew up with two younger brothers in Seoul. His mother had been very instrumental in the conversion of his immediate and extended family to Christ. At the age of 12, he publicly confessed his faith before his home congregation and was baptized.
Dr. Kim took advantage of the scholarship opportunity offered through Korea Baptist and its partner in Missouri, Southwest Baptist University. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he moved to Fort Worth and completed his master’s and doctorate in Christian Education at Southwestern Seminary. Afterward, he joined the Korean Air Force and fulfilled his military duty at Air Command and Staff College in Seoul.
Upon returning to Texas in 1994, Dr. Kim served DBU for five years in various capacities: Associate Registrar, Academic Advisor, and Assistant Professor of Adult Education. In 1999, he went to Southwestern Seminary to serve on the faculty, and then came back to Dallas Baptist University in 2010.
