DBU REPORT I 2016-2021 OVERVIEW 22 To grow in Christ is at the heartbeat of the mission of Dallas Baptist University. In every office, classroom, playing field, and dorm, we intend everything we do to pulse with the Spirit of Christ in order to glorify God. Here, there is no sacred-secular division. Faith infuses all that we do. Over the past five years, DBU has sought to deepen its Christian commitment in a variety of ways, including annual theme verses, prayer walks and services, and annual summer reading and discussion groups, reminding us—as Benedict of Nursia once stated—that our calling as a community is to “pray and work” (ora et labora).
