In the summer of 2021 during the pandemic, Dr. Wright invited DBU faculty and staff to participate in small groups to discuss The Strength You Need during a summer spiritual enrichment series. This fall, the campus had the opportunity to hear from him in person as a part of a special visit to the campus on November 1. “Dr. Morgan’s book The Strength You Need was given to me by Dr. Greg Ammons when the Lord knew my family and I needed encouragement,” said Dr. Wright. “I am thankful for PASTOR, AUTHOR ROBERT MORGAN SPEAKS TO DBU STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF Dr. Morgan’s devotion to the Bible and the way he inspires others to make knowing the promises of Scripture a priority in their lives.” Dr. Robert J. Morgan serves as the teaching pastor at The Donelson Fellowship in Nashville and is author of The Red Sea Rules, The Strength You Need, and many other titles, with more than 4.5 million copies in circulation. After speaking with students in chapel, Dr. Morgan joined the faculty and staff for a special luncheon. Dr. Greg Ammons of First Baptist Garland led the opening prayer followed by remarks from DBU President Adam C. Wright. Dr. Morgan shared about the times that Jesus personally met the Apostle Paul throughout the Book of Acts to minister to him, and he encouraged the DBU Family to be in the Word daily, listen for God to speak, and expect a fresh word especially in times of decision or distress.
