DBU REPORT 34 Linda Roney recently celebrated 27 years at Dallas Baptist University. During her time at DBU, she has served as a transcript evaluator, the Academic Curriculum Officer, an adjunct faculty member for 13 years with the College of Professional Studies, and currently serves as our Registrar, a role she has held for the past 21 years, making her the longest serving Registrar in DBU history. As Registrar, Linda supervises registration, certifications of athletes, transcript evaluations, academic standings, student records, graduation, and the implementation of Self-Service in the Registrar’s Office. In addition to her position as Registrar, Linda has served on a number of committees including the NCAA Compliance Committee, the DBU Commencement Committee, the Financial Aid Appeals Committee, and the Registration Appeals Committee. She is also a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO), and the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO). Prior to her arrival at DBU, she worked as a secretary to a comptroller for a national banking group, a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, and a stay-at-home mother. “It has been my great honor to serve with and be blessed by a host of very dear DBU friends, staff, faculty, and administration these past 27 years,” says Linda. “My job has been made easier by the great work ethic and job knowledge expertise of my fellow Registrar staff members, as we seek to serve the Lord and DBU together.” Linda received her associate degree from the University of Oklahoma and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Dallas Baptist University. Linda has four married children, Lisa, Shanna, Shari, and Don Patrick, all of whom are DBU graduates, and 18 grandchildren.
