DBU REPORT 38 2021 BLUEBONNET LUNCHEON & MEMBERSHIP TEA On Wednesday, April 7, the Women’s Auxiliary Board held their annual Bluebonnet Luncheon in the Great Hall on the DBU campus. With 275 attendees present, the Women’s Auxiliary Board was excited to be back in person to hold this beloved event. Women’s Auxiliary Board President 2020-2021 Patty Lovvorn welcomed all in attendance and led the group in a prayer of thanksgiving. Mary Flickner, Chair of the Bluebonnet Luncheon Committee, welcomed the guests and shared opening remarks. Mary is a Ph.D. candidate at DBU and currently serves as an adjunct faculty member along with her husband, Head DBU basketball coach, Dr. Blake Flickner. Following Mary’s statement, Dr. Adam C. Wright, DBU President, provided updates on campus happenings and recognized the international students graduating in May. After this, DBU graduate and Louise Herrington School of Nursing student, Kate Bartke, gave her testimony followed by two songs of worship led by Dr. John Borum, Meredith Witte, Hannah Hassett, and Tokyo Garza. Leslie Moulton, Executive Director of the Women’s Auxiliary Board, concluded the luncheon with prayer. The annual Women’s Auxiliary Board Membership Tea was held on Tuesday, May 18 at the DBU President’s Home. During this time, ladies were encouraged to renew their Women’s Auxiliary Board membership and continue in support of DBU through gifts, service, and prayer.
