SUMMER 2021 5 a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’” In the New Testament, Jesus took bread, “gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me’” (Luke 22:19). The disciples were instructed to continue doing this, memorializing the great things God had done, with their eyes set on the future return of the Lord. This past year, by the grace of God, we were able to witness His faithfulness to DBU in remarkable ways. We were able to do more than just endure the pandemic. We certainly had to make adjustments, but with proper cautions in place, we continued to press on in our mission of transforming and equipping servant leaders. We celebrated annual traditions beloved to our University Family, including a virtual Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award Dinner, Commencement, Ruth Awards Christmas program, MLK Unity Walk, Patriot Baseball Banquet, Spring Sing, and Homecoming. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the L ord , ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29 : 11 -13 Baseball won the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title this year, and several of our Athletics teams achieved top 10 rankings, while our Women’s Golf, Patriettes, and Cheer teams made University history as national champions.
