WINTER 2020–2021 35 LSC’s Coach of the Year. Both the men’s and women’s teams capped off their season with first place finishes at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships in Joplin, Missouri. Likewise, the DBU Golf Team notched another outstanding year, led by Head Coach Kenny Trapp. The DBU Women’s Golf team was arguably the best in the country before the NCAA suspended the remaining 2020 spring schedule last spring, and as they took to the course this past fall, they carried on their winning tradition, securing victories in all three of their tournaments and winning seven consecutive events dating back to late October 2020. The Lady Patriots enter this spring ranked No. 1 in the nation by Golfstat. Not to be outdone, the DBU Men’s Golf team posted three top-3 finishes during their fall campaign, including a first place finish at the NCCAA National Championships in Hammock Beach, Florida. Women’s Soccer in particular had many disappointments to face as the Fall 2020 season began. Coming off both a regular-season and tournament title in their inaugural season in the Lone Star Conference, as well as reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA-Division II Tournament last year, the Lady Patriots looked to win it all in the fall. But the NCAA tournament was postponed to the spring, and the team had to readjust. Led by Head Coach Michelle Lenard, the women pushed through the fall as the team turned their attention to the NCCAA Tournament, blowing through the competition and taking home the championship in style. With the spring upon them, the Lady Patriots have picked up where they left off in the Lone Star Conference and have already shown signs of another long run in the playoffs. Last fall, a talented Men’s Basketball roster had to let go of Trent Phillips and Preston Williamson Chandler Jacobs Meagan Pistone, Amari Smith, and Head Coach Kenny Trapp
