DBU REPORT 14 Throughout the summer, incoming students visited campus with their families for New Patriot Orientation (NPO) sessions to learn more about the University culture, meet future professors, hear from various administrators and staff leaders, and just get more acquainted with their new home on the Hill. Gaby, an incoming Business major with a focus in Entrepreneurship, said one of the initial reasons she found herself at DBU was because of the vital financial opportunities the University provides for its students. However, once she got to experience NPO, she became even more excited by the sense of community. Eryn, another incoming student and communication major, also expressed how the people she met during Orientation made her feel so welcome. Students also experienced their first taste of collegiate community through a variety of engaging activities designed to introduce them to new friends and even potential roommates. At the end of NPO, the newest and truest DBU Patriots officially became part of the Family with the ringing of DBU’s Liberty Bell to a celebratory burst of confetti, a beloved campus tradition and a memorable way to close out the DBU introduction and open the next chapters of full integration to life on the Hill.
