Journal of K-12 Educational Research 17 About the Author Dr. Julia Hyman serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning and Advanced Academics in Birdville ISD and is an adjunct professor in the Dorothy M. Bush College of Education at Dallas Baptist University. Previous positions held include Director of Advanced Academics, Coordinator of Gifted and Talented and Advanced Academics, Social Studies Coordinator, Educational Consultant, and Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University, a Master’s of Education from the University of North Texas, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership K-12 from Dallas Baptist University.
