Master of Science in Finance

The M.S. in Finance (MSFIN) is a flexible, 36-hour STEM degree. An M.S. in Finance from Dallas Baptist University will equip you for a wide range of exciting and challenging careers in the investment and financial analysis fields. Our flexible course offerings can be completed as quickly as 18 months and are ideal for students wanting to enter into the finance industry.

The MSFIN program will equip students with various quantitative skills required for financial professionals, including expertise in accounting, economic, and quantitative analyses, and the application of modern portfolio theory. Also, the program will equip students with an understanding of current trends in fintech.

The MSFIN program will provide students with the knowledge base to sit for the Level I CFA* (Chartered Financial Analyst®) exam.

*An application for membership in the CFA Institute’s University Affiliation Program will be submitted after the MSFIN program starts in Fall 2020.

Accreditation

Dallas Baptist University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The Master of Science in Information Technology Management, The Master of Science in Management, The Master of Science in Finance, and The Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management programs have met conditions for eligibility and will be submitted for accreditation by the ACBSP in the next accrediting cycle. The Master of Science in Accounting, The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management, and The Master of Science in Organizational Change and Project Management are new programs that are in the process of meeting the conditions of eligibility for accreditation by the ACBSP.

Admission Requirements

Admission to one graduate program does not guarantee admission to another. Applicants who show potential for graduate study but do not meet the criteria for Full Admission may be admitted for up to 12 hours under provisional status. Students admitted under Provisional Admission will be granted Full Admission upon successful completion of 12 credit hours and fulfillment of the conditions of their admission as determined by the Master’s Degrees Admission Committee.
