DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY

DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY is a nationally ranked, Christ-centered university that is home to more than 4,200 students, representing more than 60 countries around the world. Please take the opportunity to get to know us. You will discover a community of servant leaders whose heart is to teach and care for others while offering a wide range of undergraduate programs, all taught by experienced professors, not graduate assistants. Grounded in the liberal arts, the curriculum promotes critical thinking and communication skills that will equip you for a successful future. Our coursework is challenging, our faculty exceptional, and when it’s time to pursue an internship, you’ll benefit from the Dallas-Fort Worth area having one of the largest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the nation. We understand that our students are diverse in their callings, yet united in purpose, and through a transformative, Christian educational experience, we disciple and mentor students to be bold servant leaders in the classroom, courtroom, boardroom and beyond. WELCOME HOME 1

Accelerated Graduate Placement credit earned may be applied when the student begins his or her graduate program at DBU, reducing both the cost and time to complete a master’s degree. BRIDGE PROGRAMS For the Master of Arts in Psychology and the Master of Arts in Professional Counseling programs, DBU offers specialized Bridge Programs, which allows advanced students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in psychology to attain knowledge and skills from both undergraduate and master’s degrees in a single accelerated process. Bridging the bachelor's to one of these highly sought-after master's programs provides a faster track to graduation, prepares students for professional licensure and reduces costs for the student. 4 UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

FAITH AND LEARNING At DBU, we stand with conviction that faith should never be separated from any aspect of our lives, and remain committed to the great tradition of Christian scholarship. Because of this steadfast commitment, we integrate faith and learning in every classroom and throughout every academic discipline. Similarly, DBU professors seek to disciple students, not only in their Christian walk, but also in their academic learning. Your professors will pray for you and with you. Their commitment to the Christian faith will provide you with a clear path to understand the complexities of humanities, the sciences, today’s marketplaces and tomorrow’s classrooms. CHAPEL COMMUNITY Chapel exists to enrich the lives of students at DBU and serves as a way to connect with the Lord amid the busyness of normal college life. The DBU Family joins together three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. for Chapel, which features student-led worship, a variety of speakers and important campus announcements. However, DBU Chapel does not take the place of the local church, and we encourage all students to get involved in a local church in addition to attending chapel services weekly. 5 COMMIT

DBU offers a variety of on-campus housing options, including residence halls, living-learning communities and apartments, townhomes and brownstones for upperclassmen, all within the confines of one of the safest campuses in the country. RESIDENCE HALLS DBU has two male and two female residence halls: Crowley Complex (F), Lange Hall (M), Spence Hall (F) and Williams Hall (M). The cafeteria, Residence Life office and General Store are located within the Crowley Complex. UPPERCLASSMEN HOUSING As an upperclassman, you can take the next step in your college experience through the freedom of apartment living with the convenience of living on campus. There are four distinct types of apartment-style housing offered on campus: Colonial Village Apartments, Mabee Village Townhomes, Brownstones and Ford Village, which houses the Pedersen Residental College. LIVING-LEARNING COMMUNITIES DBU has three Living-Learning Communities where residents and their mentors engage in weekly and monthly Bible studies, community meals, travel study trips, guest lectureships and guided discussions. First-year students can experience this style of living on campus in Jewel House (F) or Stone House (M), while Ford Village is open to upperclassman students. “My experience as an on-campus student has been wonderful for three main reasons: the facilities/grounds are stellar, the faculty & staff are excellent in knowledge and virtue, and the community of DBU is welcoming and supportive!” student review on 7 LIVING ON CAM

HONORS PROGRAM THE UNIVERSITY HONORS PROGRAM provides an opportunity for undergraduate students in any major to develop a deep spiritual, intellectual and cultural community at DBU. Honors Program students can also connect with their fellow students at weekly Friday Symposiums, off-campus cultural experiences and gatherings like the annual Fall Retreat. Additionally, each Honors student receives a scholarship for each year of Program residency, and, of course, academic recognition that can serve as a vital addition to your résumé. UR FUTURE 30+ DBU SCHOLARSHIPS are available to students. You can’t do your best academically if you are worried about financing your education, so we’re here to help! Not only does DBU provide institutional scholarships, but we also have an Office of Scholarships specializing in finding outside resources for students. Private scholarships are gifts funded by local banks, trusts, foundations and other organizations that go directly to students’ accounts. Most private scholarships are for traditional-age undergraduate students with financial need. The best time to apply is in the springtime, between January and May. All private scholarships that students apply for in the spring go toward the following school year. The Director of Scholarships has researched and developed relationships with these private foundations and organizations over the last 10+ years, and this research has been compiled into a database, which you will have access to should you choose DBU and pay your enrollment fee. 20
