DBU Hosts MEDIAlliance International Christian Communicators Summit

Dallas, TX – This past week Dallas Baptist University hosted a unique gathering of Christian media leaders from around the world for the Media Leadership Summit, sponsored by MEDIAlliance International. The event, which was held in Jim and Sally Nation Hall on the DBU campus, lasted for three days bringing together 30 religious broadcasting leaders from around the world.

DBU Students Spend Fall Break in Spain

Dallas, TX – Boarding a plane in DFW, Shelby Weatherly, a junior biology major at Dallas Baptist University, grew increasingly excited about the week ahead. While many of her classmates spent their Fall Breaks at participating in travel studies or visiting family at home, Weatherly decided to join a group of DBU students to serve overseas in Denia, Spain.

DBU Celebrates 10 Years in Oxford

This June, Dallas Baptist University sent a group of 15 doctoral students to Oxford, England for the annual Oxford Institute with the Gary Cook School of Leadership. As a part of the Leadership Studies program, this trip is designed to look at globalization and the future of leadership, particularly in the areas of power, geopolitics, and cultural intelligence. In addition, the idea of Incarnational Leadership serves as an overarching theme of the experience.

DBU Students Awarded Frank and Martin Moore Servant Leader Award

Dallas, TX – Two DBU freshmen, Staci Beene and Jacob Alger, recently received the Frank and Martin Moore Servant Leader Award. The scholarship selection committee, made up of Dr. Cory Hines, Dr. Justin Gandy, Andrew Briscoe, and Savanah Milne, met in the spring to choose one deserving freshman female student and one deserving freshman male student for this honor.
