DBU Mourns the Loss of Beloved Professor Marsha Pool

Dallas, TX – DBU mourns the loss of beloved professor, Marsha Pool. Professor Pool served at DBU as the school’s first Master Teacher and Professor of Mathematics. She passed away on November 3 from complications following a head injury that occurred on Sunday. She was 74 years old.

Dallas, TX – Eric Metaxas, New York Times bestselling author, recently spoke on the DBU campus as a part of the inaugural Institute for Global Engagement Leadership Lecture Series. The event, which took place on October 20 and 21, marked the beginning of a new series sponsored by DBU’s Institute for Global Engagement.

DBU Celebrates 50 Years in Dallas

On October 1, 1965, Dallas Baptist College held its first day of classes. On September 30, 2015, 50 years later, Dallas Baptist University held a special anniversary chapel service to commemorate this milestone.

DBU Students Lead EQUIP Worship Conference in Vancouver

A group of Dallas Baptist University students traveled to Vancouver, Canada, from May 16 to May 25, in order to lead a conference on congregational worship led by Larry Tardy. Working with the various ethnic congregations in the Vancouver area, these DBU students organized and taught different sessions on worship leadership and musical styles.

The summit was held on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, in the Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel on the DBU campus.

DBU Honors Students with Frank and Martin Moore Servant Leadership Scholarship

Dallas, TX – Dallas Baptist University recently presented the Frank and Martin Moore Servant Leadership Award to Brittany O’Neal and Jonathan Fechner for their outstanding stewardship within the DBU community and in the broader Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Brittany and Jonathan were chosen out of several of their peers to receive the award. Students selected for the award receive $750 towards educational use and $250 to donate to a charity of the student’s choosing.

Dallas, TX - The Dallas Baptist University Board of Trustees announced today that they have elected Dr. Gary Cook as Chancellor of the University. Dr. Cook, who has served as President of the University for the last 27 years, will remain as President until the Board of Trustees elects a new president and the new president begins to serve.
