Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Phi Theta Kappa Online Application

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is awarded to new transfer students meeting eligibility requirements and may be used toward tuition only. Full-time students living on campus may be awarded $12,000 per academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and commuter students may be awarded $7,000 per academic year (Fall and Spring semesters).

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is to be used in lieu of the Academic Scholarships for students living on campus and the Commuter Academic Scholarships for students living off campus. It may be awarded in addition to the Christian Service Scholarship and the Christian Leadership Scholarship.

Scholarship Requirements:

  1. Be a member in good standing in Phi Theta Kappa.
  2. Enroll in and successfully complete the DBU Christian Leadership course during their first year of enrollment.
  3. Be enrolled as a full-time student.
  4. Be involved (for at least six hours per month) in a volunteer service or ministry activity.
  5. Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any other required paperwork, as requested.
  6. Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
  7. Maintain moral and ethical standards that would be exemplary of the life of Christ.

Maintaining Your Scholarship

Living on campus allows students to be fully engaged in the DBU experience. On-campus residency is required for all DBU Scholarships except the Commuter Academic, Transfer Commuter, and the Phi Theta Kappa scholarships.

Students must continue to maintain specific overall GPAs to remain on scholarship at Dallas Baptist University. Learn About Maintaining Your Scholarship.
