New User Account Setup

Initial Password Reset Instructions 

1. Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

2. Enter your DBU email address located in your MyDBU welcome email.

If you cannot find your MyDBU welcome email, please check your spam/junk folder of the personal email address you used to complete the student application process, or contact your admissions counselor/advisor to request they provide you with your new DBU email address.

3. Select "I forgot my password".

4. Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your identity. New students should be able to verify identity with either their personal email address or their phone number used to complete the student application process.

5. Create your new password.

If you encounter an error not allowing you to reset your own password, call the Information Technology Support Center at 214-333-5500.

Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) 

 Step 1: Visit my.dbu.edu

  1. Enter your email address and click Next.
  2. Enter your password and click Sign in.

Step 2: Set Up MFA

  1. After signing in, you will be prompted to set up additional security verification. Click Next.

Step 3: Configure the Microsoft Authenticator App

  1. If you haven't already, download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and add an account by scanning the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
  3. Once the QR code is scanned, the app will display a six-digit code. Enter this code on your computer screen and click Next.

Step 4: Verify and Finish

  1. Microsoft will send a test notification to your authenticator app. Approve the notification on your mobile device.
  2. Once approved, you will see a confirmation screen on your computer. Click Next.
  3. You have successfully set up MFA. Click Done to complete the process.

Step 5: Additional Security Verification (Operational)

  1. You can add more verification methods, such as a phone number or alternate email. To do this, go to the Security Info page in your account settings.
  2. Follow the prompts to set up additional verification methods.

MyDBU Account 

MyDBU is a single sign-on portal that contains relevant information and applications needed for day-to-day life at DBU. Customized information and applications are available to admitted students, current students, and employees.

Proxy Access

Students can grant parents or authorized users, called a "Proxy", access to view their student information in a secure, online environment. For more information visit www.dbu.edu/proxy.
