Finance Major (BBA)

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance (BBA Finance) prepares students for a career in managing financial resources in all areas of the business and financial sectors. The BBA Finance degree at DBU focuses on the study of financial markets, corporate and private finance, international finance, and valuation of stocks, fixed-income securities, and other financial assets. The BBA Finance degree provides specific electives in bank management, insurance, and commercial real estate. Graduates go on to work in many sectors including investment banking, financial planning, real estate, and other industries. Additionally, DBU, through the BBA Finance degree, is recognized as a CFA Institute Affiliated University by the CFA Institute. Graduates with a BBA Finance degree are well-suited to sit for the first Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) exam.

The purpose of the major in Finance is to equip students with an exceptional, Christ-centered education in finance so that they can become ethical leaders in the global economy. We help students translate theory into practice with a focus on serving the needs of others. Our approach seeks to integrate the latest research with the timeless truths of Scripture to help students navigate the business world from a Christian perspective.

Mat Laurent

The College of Business (COB) has played a significant role in my future professional development. With their support and the support of my professors, I got a job and had multiple opportunities to engage with experienced people in the financial field. I can see years of prayers answered during my time at DBU; Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me that God, indeed, has great fun plans. I am encouraged and inspired to keep going."
