Upcoming Commencement Services

Dallas Baptist University's May 2025 Commencement Services are scheduled for the following dates in the Pilgrim Chapel:

  • Thursday, May 15
    • 10:00 a.m. (rehearsal at 8:00 a.m.)
  • Friday, May 16
    • 10:00 a.m. (rehearsal at 8:00 a.m.)
    • 3:00 p.m. (rehearsal at 1:00 p.m.)

Commencement Reception

Immediately following each commencement service, a reception is held in honor of the graduates in the Hillcrest Great Hall of the John G. Mahler Student Center. Graduates, families, and friends are cordially invited.

Upcoming Grad Finales

  • Saturday, February 22: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Monday, February 24: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Grad Finale

Held a few weeks prior to each commencement date in the Great Hall of the Mahler Student Center, Grad Finale is a one-stop shop for all commencement needs. Students are able to purchase regalia, order graduation announcements, and a class ring. Representatives from various campus offices will be on hand to answer questions regarding graduation. A packet of detailed commencement instructions is also given. If you are not able to attend your Grad Finale, you will receive an email with the commencement information.

Candlelighting Service

The Candlelighting Service is held the evening before the first service during each Commencement week in the Hillcrest Great Hall of the Mahler Student Center, starting at 8:00 p.m. The program includes testimonies from graduates, reading of scriptures, special music, and a special address from DBU President Dr. Adam C. Wright. A reception will be held in the Patriot Café immediately afterward. You are not required to attend the Candlelighting service, but if you do plan to attend, you must RSVP to the Student Affairs Office.
