Dr. Bob Brooks Named DBU Faculty Member of the Year
Dallas, TX - Dr. Bob Brooks, Dean of the Graduate School of Ministry at Dallas Baptist University, has been named the 2014 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year.
Dr. Brooks first came to DBU as an adjunct professor of Fine Arts and later joined the faculty full-time as Associate Dean in the College of Fine Arts in 2003. He was then presented an opportunity to serve at The Juilliard School, where he had completed a post-doctoral professional internship. In 2009, Dr. Brooks returned to DBU as Associate Dean of the Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership and was named Dean of the Graduate School of Ministry in 2013.
In addition to overseeing the graduate ministerial programs at DBU, Dr. Brooks has taught a variety of courses in applied voice, church music administration, congregational song, mentorship, music in worship, spiritual formation and worship, the worshipping life, worship philosophy and practice, and worship theology for contemporary ministry. He has also directed the DBU Chamber Singers and Legacy Ensemble and has guided doctoral students in independent research. On the administrative level, Dr. Brooks has served on the DBU Academic Appeals Committee, Institutional Effectiveness Committee, Library Committee, and Honorary Doctorate Committee.
Dr. Brooks is an active member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.
