New DBU Undergraduate Website Guides Users from Online Exploration to Move-In Day
The vast majority of college prospects today shop for potential schools online, making a University's webpage strategically important to engaging the virtual campus visitor. A student's choice of college could very well depend upon their having a seamless and enjoyable user-experience (UX) while answering the three most common questions according to research in higher education marketing: academic program offerings, admissions criteria, and affordability. A University also has to balance standing out from the crowd with serving normal user expectations.
In response to the digital communication needs of today’s current college-seekers, DBU recently completed a design makeover of its Undergraduate Admissions webpages to provide for users a more navigable, holistic, and visually appealing connection with a personalized touch.
Scrolling through the various menu items, prospects are given a window into DBU's vibrant Campus Life, various service and missions opportunities, and its ideal location for experiencing cultural enrichment in the neighboring DFW Metroplex.
A Career page gives users the opportunity to see the industries and professions where DBU graduates are currently serving along with students sharing testimonials about their transformational journey. Along with important information about DBU's cost value, online visitors can meet their Admissions Counselors, and Parents have a special page devoted to their questions and concerns.
Once prospects click "Apply," they will be shown a detailed Admissions checklist, and upon acceptance, a "You're In!" page walks them step-by-step all the way to the celebration of move-in day. From online exploration, through the application and admissions process, to registering for their first day of classes, the new webpages extend a welcoming invitation to come and see what makes the DBU Experience unique among all the others.
"DBU's commitment to providing traditional undergraduate students a quality Christ-centered educational experience has been the foundation of our mission as an institution fo over 120 years," said Assistant Vice President for Enrollment, John Borum, Ed.D. "With the launch of a new online presence through the Discover.DBU.edu website, prospective students and their families are able to gain a glimpse into what makes the DBU difference due to transformative higher education."
