Commissional Corner: Preparing for the New Semester
Are you ready?
The summer is wrapping up and the new semester is approaching quickly! Are you excited to return or start your first semester at Dallas Baptist University? Undoubtably, some students eagerly await this next chapter in their lives, already prepared to embark on the journey. But some may be at a loss for where to start or what they should be doing to get ready for the fall. If that is the situation you are in, fear not! Below is a comprehensive guide on what you can expect and how to prepare for the upcoming semester.
New students, if you haven't yet, you should make sure you are able to access your MyDBU account. You also should have previously received an email with your login credentials. If you encounter problems, please reach out to DBU Information Technology.
Are you registered for fall classes? If you are unsure of which classes you need to take for your degree plan, schedule a virtual meeting with your advisor and they will be more than happy to help you! Ready to register? Look up available courses and register for them in DBU's Self-Service.
Are you struggling with finances? DBU wants to walk alongside you and support you in your need. Make sure to check out all of DBU's resources for financial aid, church matching, BGCT scholarships, and more!
If you are currently enrolled in fall classes, you can find your required textbooks through the DBU Barnes and Noble bookstore. Just fill out the course information on the website and the website will retrieve your assigned course material. Plan ahead and order them before classes start. It will save you so much stress to skip the long lines at the bookstore last-minute or to not scramble to complete assignments after your books take a week shipping to you.
