DBU President Dr. Adam C. Wright Congratulates Former Trustee Scott Turner on Confirmation as HUD Secretary

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Baptist University (DBU) President Dr. Adam C. Wright extends his heartfelt congratulations to Scott Turner, former DBU Board of Trustees member, on his confirmation by the United States Senate as the 19th Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Trump Administration on February 5, 2025.

“On behalf of the entire DBU Family, I want to congratulate Scott Turner on this remarkable achievement,” said Dr. Wright. “Scott has long been a champion of servant leadership, integrity, and faith-driven public service, and his confirmation as HUD Secretary is a testament to his unwavering commitment to making a difference in communities across our nation.”

Turner, who previously served as a Texas state representative and later as the executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, has been a devoted advocate for economic development, affordable housing, and community transformation. He also served as an Associate Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church and Founder and CEO of the Community Engagement and Opportunity Council, dedicated to reviving communities through mentorship, sports and economic opportunity. Turner’s leadership and vision will be instrumental in advancing the mission of HUD to improve housing access and economic opportunity for all Americans.
