Chapel Presentation and Message

Dallas, TX - Botrus Mansour, general director of the Nazareth Baptist School in Nazareth, Israel, served as the chapel speaker at Dallas Baptist University on Wednesday, January 30.

He shared with those in attendance about the importance of maintaining a Christian presence in the hometown of Jesus. Reading from Luke 4, Mansour discussed the Biblical passage where Jesus was rejected in Nazareth. "Unfortunately, our people rejected Him," he expressed. "We are trying to glorify Him now. If Jesus is not glorified in His hometown, where will He be glorified?"

Cultural and Spiritual Unity

Mansour explained that there are many differences between Arabs and Americans, but, he said "as followers of Jesus, this barrier has been broken, and we are one in Christ."

Mansour has served as general director for the school since 2004. He is a graduate of NBS, and also holds a law degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an MBA from Haifa University. He is a co-founder of Local Baptist Church-Nazareth, the largest evangelical church in Israel.

Nazareth Baptist School provides education to more than 1,000 students in K-12. DBU sent a team of students to work with the school last summer on a mission trip. The students helped coordinate a children's camp and worked on repairs and painting on the school's campus.
