"Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My name is Michael Thomas Crumpler, and I am a proud graduate of Dallas Baptist University. I count it a privilege and honor to have attended DBU, and I call myself an alumnus and a member of Theta Alpha Kappa (DBU Chapter). I attended DBU as a transfer student from January 2022 to May 2023, when I finished my MATS (Master of Arts in Theological Studies) degree. I have attended several schools in my education. However, DBU stands out as the greatest in equipping me more for the ministry and walking closer to my Savior. Through my studies in the MATS degree program, I concentrated heavily on the Bible, following God's leadership, and servant leadership. Some of the most Godly and caring professors I have ever met are at DBU.

I am the English Pastor of Korean Baptist Church of Jacksonville, North Carolina. My studies in the MATS degree at DBU are still with me each day as I serve the congregation. I have a greater zeal for Bible study and practical application, manifesting in my desire and obedience to follow God's leadership. DBU stressed the importance of servant-leadership because it is biblical. As leaders, we must set an example for others to follow by serving. I implement this in the ministry God has called me to.

I have been blessed to be the English Minister of the Korean Baptist Church for four years. Three weeks ago, we had the baptism of a thirteen-year-old young man. The church had not, from our knowledge, had a baptism in fifteen years. On April 7, I had three more requests for baptism and a request for a baby dedication! To God be the glory, great things He hath done! This was not accomplished through my abilities but through the grace of God. God has moved in a mighty way. I am closer to the Lord and more equipped for His service because of DBU.

My advice for DBU students is to study hard, pray harder, and serve joyfully. Form eternal relationships with those you come into contact with. Remember, there will be mountain-top experiences and valley experiences. Praise God for your salvation in both. Thank God for the valley experiences; those are when we rely and hold tight to the Lord most. Remember, you did not get on the mountain by yourself. Do not pitch your tent in the valley, but draw close to the Lord, continue to march on, and keep your eyes on the prize, which is Christ Jesus."
