Dale Braswell ('98, '23), a distinguished alumnus of Dallas Baptist University (DBU), has been appointed the University's new Senior Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. In this pivotal role, Dale is dedicated to enriching the experience of DBU's 38,000+ alumni by creating valuable opportunities for networking, resources, and engagement. His efforts are focused on empowering alumni to support one another while contributing to the ongoing advancement of DBU's mission.

Dale's journey with DBU began as an undergraduate, where he found the University to be a pivotal place in his spiritual growth. During his time at DBU, he developed a strong foundation for his Christian faith and received the preparation he needed for a career in vocational ministry. It was at DBU that Dale met his wife, Tina Wright. Together, they served as co-ministers in the musical outreach group Glowing Heart, a dynamic ministry team at the University.

Assuming this role in October 2024, Dale shared, "As a parent of a DBU student, I deeply understand the vital role parents play in the lives of students. I want to create meaningful avenues for parents to connect with the mission of DBU and support students in thriving both during and after their time at the University."

Dale is also eager to connect with DBU's incredible alumni. He says, "I am excited about meeting DBU's amazing alumni and helping connect them with resources that can continue to help them in their respective careers and callings. I am also excited about helping provide ways for our alumni to stay connected with each other and to the ongoing mission of DBU to develop Christ-centered servant leaders."

To foster meaningful engagement, Dale plans to improve communication with alumni to keep them informed about University and alumni-related events. He also aims to provide consistent opportunities for alumni to connect with each other through on-campus and off-campus events throughout the year. "The purpose of these events will be to help rekindle some of the experiences they had as students and help introduce them to other alumni," he explains.

Alumni have many ways to get involved, according to Dale. "I would love to hear feedback from our alumni on ways in which we can improve our association. Alumni can also plan to attend one of our upcoming alumni events as listed in our monthly newsletter," he says. "For alumni who would like to give back, there are numerous options. Alumni can serve as a mentor to a DBU graduate, hire DBU graduates in their workplace, or consider supporting the university financially with a one-time or recurring gift."

With over 24 years of experience in leadership, community engagement, and ministry, Dale brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. His deep background in religious education, fundraising, and volunteer management equips him to lead and mentor DBU's alumni and parents, furthering the University's mission of developing Christ-centered servant leaders.
