DBU Hosts Transformative [un]Apologetic Evangelism Conference

Dallas Baptist University welcomed several hundred students and guests to the [un]Apologetic Evangelism Conference, a two-day event designed to equip believers with practical tools for sharing their faith. Held from February 28 to March 1, 2025, in Pilgrim Chapel, the conference provided a space for attendees to engage in deep discussions on evangelism and apologetics in today’s ever-changing culture.

- Tim Barnett – A speaker with Stand to Reason, specializing in apologetics and faith-based reasoning.
- Dr. Travis Dickinson – DBU Professor of Philosophy and author of Wandering Toward God: Finding Faith amid Doubts and Big Questions.
- Eric Hernandez – Apologetics Lead for Texas Baptists, focusing on engaging younger generations in faith conversations.
In addition to main sessions, attendees participated in breakout workshops led by DBU faculty and scholars:
- Dr. R. Keith Loftin – Chair of DBU’s Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
- Dr. Jonathan Cooper – Associate Professor of Biology, integrating faith and science in his teachings.
- Dr. Dongjae Jun – Associate Professor of Biology, with expertise in cellular and molecular biology.
The conference provided a variety of opportunities for attendees to grow in their faith and strengthen their evangelism skills, including:
- Interactive Workshops – Addressing topics such as engaging with different worldviews, responding to objections to Christianity, and using storytelling in evangelism.
- Networking Opportunities – Offering a space for students, ministry leaders, and church members to connect and collaborate.
- Resource Sharing – Equipping attendees with evangelistic tools and materials for real-world application.
The [un]Apologetic Evangelism Conference left a lasting impact on participants, inspiring them to boldly stand for truth and share the hope of the Gospel in their communities. The conference series will continue with its next event on October 18, 2025, at First Baptist Church Richardson.
