Current DBU student Ranjita Kumar grew up in an Indian orphanage. Her biological family practiced Hinduism, and she herself was a professing atheist. At the young age of seven, her biological mother placed her in a Christian orphanage.
Dallas Baptist University honored Raymond Harris as the recipient of the 2018 Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award during the annual award dinner that was held on Monday, November 19, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.
The chapel was surrounded with the buzz and energy of students gathering for the Monday service, kicking off the well-anticipated Homecoming events. In between classes and late into the night, Greek Life members dotted the Quad and prepared their floats, despite the cold weather.

This two-day event provided current and former DBU students the opportunity to present on their research experiences and other academic activities. The Herb Robbins Symposium is co-sponsored by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and by DBU’s chapter of Tribeta Biological Society.
This evening, Dallas Baptist University will recognize two individuals on campus during the annual Alumni Dinner as a part of Homecoming Week. Travis Whitfill will be honored with the 2018 Distinguished Alumnus Award, and Dr. Aaron Fletcher will be presented with the 2018 Honorary Alumnus Award.

Sixteen years ago, I stood in your shoes. It was the summer awaiting my first semester at DBU. On August 17, 2014, Steffy Andina waited with excitement for a friend to pick her up from DFW Airport after a long flight from Indonesia. After traveling to campus, her home for the next four years, Andina headed to the International Office to check in and receive her room assignment.
August 18, 2014 Felix Pandutama arrived at DFW Airport after a 12 hour flight from his hometown Surabaya, Indonesia. Soon to begin his college journey, Pandutama anxiously awaited the arrival of a DBU International Office staff member to drive him to campus.
In August 2015, Allie Hall and her parents drove onto campus in a line full of cars holding anxious incoming students. Move-In day came and went in a flash as Hall and her parents quickly unpacked the car, arranged her belongings in her Crowley dorm room, and then shuffled her off to SWAT opening ceremonies.
